Not everyone is born a motivational speaker. That’s why we created ‘Generation T on stage’ to enhance the public speaking skills of our members.
In a rather informal environment, Generation T members are invited to speak on stage on a topic of their choice linked to sustainability. On top of the audience’s feedback, professional/ experienced speakers give tips & tricks on public speaking in general and useful feedback to the speakers.
The second edition of the concept took place on Thursday the 19th of April in Ghent. The Cabane Banane transformed into a room filled with inspirational messages. Thanks to two Toastmasters who gave interesting and useful feedback to the speakers and the audience in general, we all left the event with a little more knowledge on how to tackle our next speech. Speakers of the evening included:
Yana Gaevskaya talked about the ‘sustainable mindset’. About how we need to give sustainability a ‘luxury status’, in order to make it more appealing to the broad public.
Yannick de Strijcker, co-founder of Spotters van Apenbomen managed to fill the room with his vibrant energy by talking on how he wants to raise awareness about the importance of permaculture through a ‘game-like’ campaign.
Eva Degrijse talked about how the topic of circular economy has caught her interest and how she tries to contribute to the transition. She came to practise her ‘sales pitch’ to us, which she would eventually use to convince SME’s in taking steps forward towards a circular business model. With her own accessible tool in hand, she managed to deliver an interesting story, and will now hopefully be a little closer to landing that first believer-company!
