How do we do it? We enable our global community of users to communicate securely, exchanging standardised financial messages in a reliable way, thereby supporting global and local financial flows, as well as trade and commerce all around the world. As their trusted provider, we relentlessly pursue operational excellence and continually seek ways to lower costs, reduce risks and eliminate operational inefficiencies. Where are we? Headquartered in Belgium, SWIFT's international governance and oversight reinforces the neutral, global character of its cooperative structure. Our global office network ensures an active presence in all the major financial centres. What’s our engagement? SWIFT’s CSR mission is to conduct business in an ethical, responsible and sustainable way, while contributing positively to the wider community. This mission is in line with our corporate strategy of bringing together all key players across the financial ecosystem for its security, effectiveness and advancement. We are working to make a more positive impact on the communities where we operate and do business. We integrate social, environmental, ethical, and human rights concerns into our operational strategy. Our belief in the importance of education, diversity, sustainability and community outreach is reflected in our company culture. Our intermediary role in the financial industry positions us to facilitate dialogue on these topics. SWIFT has been a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact, since 2012. This is a voluntary framework for companies to align their strategies and operations with ten universally accepted principles covering human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. In April 2017 Our CEO also signed the “Women’s Empowerment Principles – Equality Means Business” of the UN Women and the United Nations Global Compact.
